ABOUT KBMC
BUILDING REGIONAL CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING CAPABILITY
KBMC is a Botswana-based industrial project focused on developing regional production of mining reagents and industrial chemicals used in mineral processing.
The project is designed to build long-term manufacturing capability in Botswana and support mining operations across Southern and Central Africa with a closer, reliable source of critical process chemicals.
PROJECT LOCATION
Palapye, Botswana
KBMC is planned for the Leupane area near Palapye
in Botswana’s Central District. The location provides access to major north–south road and rail routes connecting Botswana with Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Palapye offers a strong base for serving regional mining and industrial markets, with access to multiple trade and seaport corridors.

PLANNED CORE PLANT AREA
PHASED DEVELOPMENT
KBMC is planned as a staged manufacturing platform, beginning with SMBS production and expanding into a broader
integrated chemical complex as engineering, customer demand, financing and approvals progress.
Phase 1 — 2028
SMBS MANUFACTORING
Establishes the initial production platform for sodium metabisulphite, supporting customer qualification, dispatch capability and early commercial operations.
Phase 2 — from 2029
INTEGRATED CHEMICAL PLATFORM
Introduces CS₂, NaHS, sodium xanthates and chlor-alkali production, including caustic soda and captive chlorine and hydrogen integration.
Post base case
FUTURE EXPANSION
Additional products and capacity may be developed where supported by engineering, safety, customer demand, permitting and final investment approval.
