KBMC is developing a Botswana-based manufacturing platform for the essential chemicals that help mines turn ore into saleable copper, cobalt and other strategic mineral products.
The project is designed to bring regional production closer to major mining markets in Botswana, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Regional production is designed to shorten replenishment routes, strengthen continuity
of supply and diversify a highly concentrated import base.

THE MINING VALUE CHAIN
Critical-mineral security is often discussed in terms of mines, processing plants and transport corridors. Those assets also depend on reliable access to process chemicals. Without them, ore cannot be efficiently separated, treated and converted into saleable mineral products.
KBMC is designed to address that dependency by manufacturing selected high-use reagents closer to African
mining regions and by building a scalable platform for future integrated chemistry.

KBMC is formally confirmed as Entry Point Project EPP 5.1 under Botswana Economic Transformation Programme.
The designation supports facilitation and coordination around an export-oriented mining-reagents and industrial-chemicals platform.
The designation does not constitute a government guarantee, financing commitment or final project approval.
KBMC remains a private-sector-led development subject to the normal technical, environmental, commercial and financing requirements.
